The very first Internet marketing technique I learned when I started online in early 2006 was article marketing. At first, I didn't really believe this would work and I didn't take action.
I bought a cheap ebook called secret affiliate weapon and I read the material. One of the pdfs was about article marketing and was called lazy traffic. I read and didn't take action like most of the people online. After a while, I got a coach and he taught us affiliate marketing. I was stuck because he was teaching us the exact same tactics and strategies I learned before.
Since we had daily assignments, I was forced to write those articles because one of the condition of this coaching program was to do the tasks in time. If you failed, you could be dropped from the program.
I submitted article manually for the first time to ezinearticles, goarticles, article city, article dashboard and a Internetnrmuojf of other directories. I can tell you that I was typing and Articlebjysbvb like crazy. I didn't have money in my early beginning and I couldn't hire a ghostwriter or even use a submission software. I forget to say that I was enrolled in the program by submitting articles. The entrance fee was $197 a pop, and although I had a burning desire to enroll in this mentoring course, I didn't have the money at the time.

I wrote those 40 articles on the fly. It was my very first batch of articles, and I must admit that grammar and punctuation was bad. But I have no choice, I took action and submitted the articles.

Well, this important link in the resource box does two things:
1. It creates a one-way link back to the article writers website. This has benefits from a search engine optimization (SEO) perspective. The more one-way links back to the authors site the better (generally speaking), for the Search Engine ranking of that site.
2. It can create actual traffic to the site. A percentage of people reading the article, will click on this link and land on the authors' site, which may result in a sale, or a click on an Adsense Ad, or a pay-per-lead ad, or a signup in an opt-in box etc.
So article marketing is a win-win situation. Actually a win-win-win! The website owner who publishses the article gets free relevant content for their website. The author of the article gets link-backs, and possible traffic to their site, and the article directory gets search engine "Love" from their rapidly growing directory, plus possible monetization and list building benefits as well.

Internet Presence - Case Study: Recipe for Success

I'm constantly amazed at the number of business professionals unaware of how straight forward it is to build a visible Internet presence. I recognize there may be business professionals who also don't care about this whatever there reasons. That's fine.

The Internet provides a great number of opportunities for entertainment, connecting with friends and business associates, getting an education, tracking investments, and finding great deals while shopping. With all of these advantages, you probably want to have a high speed Internet connection in your home if you don't have one there already. While upgrading from dial up is a good thing to do, you're probably kind of confused by the options that you have available to you. This is understandable with all of the different technologies and the companies that are offering them that you have to choose from.
If you're fortunate enough to have access to cable TV, then you're also probably fortunate enough to be able to get an Internet connection that's delivered over that same broad band digital cable technology. Granted that if you have access to cable Internet, then you also probably have access to DSL, satellite, and possibly some kind of municipal WiFi Internet as well, but there are still a lot of reasons to consider broad band cable.
The first advantage that broad band cable has over other forms of broad band Internet technology is speed. With the possible exception of muni WiFi, broad band cable high speed Internet has the largest bandwidths with download speeds that vary from six to twelve megabytes per second, depending on the level of service that's been subscribed to and whether or not the special Power Boost feature (which increases the baseline download speed by fifty percent for larger downloads) has kicked in. Both satellite Internet and DSL have bandwidths that are stuck around three megabytes per second and often quite lower, depending on where you live and how much you're willing to pay.
Getting your Internet connection over a cable also provides a greater level of security than any kind of WiFi. In fact, there are even people who look for WiFi connections so that they can see what's being transmitted- in effect spying on what WiFi users are looking at. Since there isn't a good way to make muni WiFi service secure, this is a very real danger. It's also theoretically possible to spy on satellite Internet signals as well.
Naturally, since DSL is transmitted over phone lines, it has a similar level of security to broad band digital cable Internet connection, but there are many other ways in which an Internet connection based on digital cable technology is superior. The fact that cables are a lot beefier than phone lines means that the signal that can be sent over them is a lot faster and more reliable. After all, skinny phone lines are subject to a lot more interference than coaxial cables and that interference can really slow things down.
All of the extra speed and reliability and security that you can get from a broad band cable Internet connection such as Comcast's translates into a level of Internet performance that you've probably only experienced in libraries, coffee shops, or at work up to this point.
The Internet is an increasingly vital part of everyday life and this technology can help you make the most of it.

As you could read in my bio, Ive been doing book sales since 1990. During this time the trends in the publishing industry have been changing from year to year. At the end of the 90 the belief that internet will supplant books prevailed, although that has not happened. But it is true, that the sales of generic encyclopedias have decreased for a small percentage.
Lately I have been noticing that the interest for different encyclopedias has increased again. This is due to the fact, that internet offers a variety of different web pages, whose main interest is not to give to the user information they desire, but to make money with advertisements.
So what the users encounter?
Try to imagine your 10 year old child, who has a task to find the information for his project about the brain on internet. When you type for example in Google the word brain, first "150" hits represent different PhD dissertation with a content that has nothing to do with the topic your child is interested in. Until the child finds appropriate information, a lot of precious time can be lost.
A while ago a common project has been launched by Google as the biggest search engine and Dorling Kindersley as one of the biggest publishers in the world. It has been named E-encyclopedia. E-encyclopedia means, you have extremely attractive encyclopedia with pictures at the one side and at the other a search engine that encompasses more than 1000 different web pages. Put differently this means that everything contained in a book is to be found on the internet as well.
My opinion is that books still have some advantages against internet. Internet is "jungle" and if you are not skilful with internet you may have a lot of problems to find right informations you desire.

All right. Im sick and tired of all the hype on the internet. And I cant believe people actually fall for this stuff. You know, the promises of six-figure incomesnot yearlybut monthly; the promises to help you leave your day job within three months; the promises to give you the knowledge to work three hours per day or less and spend the rest of the time on the golf course or at the gym. Come on. As John Stossel says, Give me a break!
I just cant take it. Can you? Now granted, just like you, Im researching and reading, trying to grow a home-based business on the computer. I put the hours in and I work very hard at it. I write ebooks (thats right, I write them myself; I dont get them as resell rights), I write articles, I write poetry, I write Christian stories and poemsand Im getting a small return right now on my investment in time. So how can these others promise to get me to make millions with little or no effort, if Im putting in a ton of effort and only seeing modest returns? Am I that dumb or inefficient? Are these people just natural born geniuses?
In answer to the above, I really doubt it. Hype does sell to the unprepared, the naive, and the credulous. Even I sometimes fall for the latest internet guarantees that dot the cyberspace landscape like ants on a fresh ice cream spill. How frustrating! Is there anyone out there thats honest? After all, we all want to escape the rat race, and we all want financial freedom. Our individual motives might be different, but the ability to spend more time with our families and not to be subjugated to some bosss eccentric whims is something borne of a fantasy. But to earn this fantasy through hype and misinformation is a crime in and of itself. Every time I click on one of these ads which promises me such things, I feel as though Im reading the same template with the words changed around a bit. Even the colors and highlighting of the words are the same from page to page of these unoriginal mouthpieces.
Now the good thing about this copycat syndrome is that there is an enormous opportunity for those who are honest and who do break the mold and come up with something original. Im not saying that Im the one to do that, but at least I dont hype my ebooks the way these others do. For that, I hold my head up. Come on internet marketers, take the narrow way and come up with some good honest information. You will be well rewarded for it. After all, we all can use some good people out there in cyberspace, not leeches who are looking to make a fast buck on some poor unsuspecting surfer. Fight the good fight. It will be well worth it.
